This book contains basic California family law information for the general members of the public. Although this book is relatively inexpensive, all of the information is completely accurate. The author of this book is also the author of many California legal books, a California licensed attorney and a college professor.The IN BRIEF section at the beginning of each chapter shows the authority for the chapter’s laws, Rules of Court and case references.The summary dissolution section in Chapter 3 is explained fully because this procedure is often used without attorneys. Furthermore, because it requires only one filing fee, it is a much cheaper procedure to use if the parties qualify for it.Since, alimony or spousal support, as it is called in California, is one of the divorce issues that is very litigated, this chapter, Chapter 11, includes many more references to California laws, Rules and cases.No Family law Judicial Council forms have been included in this book. They are discussed in many chapters, but not included. Chapter 12 discusses the initial forms to file a family law matter. It is recommended that the reader download the initial forms before reading chapter 12. The forms are available online at https://www.courts.ca.gov/.The Glossary consists of 15 pages in a smaller font. There are many words included in the glossary that are not covered in this book.
