Pottery Air Dry Clay —— Not only fit for beginners but professionals as well

Long-term storage of clay: Store them in a cool environment. Regularly check to see if it still has moisture. If not, you can spray some water to keep it soft and moist, or store in a sealed plastic bag in mini fridge.

Note: The thickness of the clay work has a significant effect on drying time. Thinner work have a relatively large surface area and therefore lose moisture more easily and dry more quickly. Conversely, thicker clay work will take longer to dry due to the difficulty of rapidly evaporating internal moisture.

When making items that are thick and solid there can be cracking as the item dries from the outside in. This can be remedied usually by:

1.Make it to dry slowly away from heat and sunlight.

2.Watching it closely for signs of cracking and moistening any cracks with water rubbing them out as they appear.

3.Thick projects can also be built in layers and each layer dries before adding the next, just don't forget to dampen the first layer before adding more clay or it won't stick and can fall apart as the new layer dries.

4.Keeping the outer layer damp will help prevent cracking; cover the project with a dampened towel or cloth and allow it dry slowly.
